That’s right, we couldn’t be more thrilled to announce that a sample of Minna Parikka’s A/W12 collection is available for sale at our flagship store. This collection, entitled Utopia, is for the woman who wishes to forget an overly-serious world and be truly adventurous. See Minna above with one of her most popular styles from her latest season.
At the tender age of 15, Minna knew it was her calling to design shoes. Today, the Finnish accessories designer has been single-handedly revamping and inspiring women’s wardrobes from the ground up for seven years now, and there is no sign that she is slowing down. Ms. Parikka currently boasts breathtaking collections featuring footwear, handbags, scarves, and gloves.
Minna’s many fans include Lady Gaga, Fergie, Dita Von Teese, Paloma Faith, and Beth Ditto. In fact, Minna has designed two pairs of heels exclusively for the Mother Monster. See the shoe designed for Gaga’s 2012 tour below, featuring Parikka’s signature rabbit ears and a slew of iconic cartoon characters.

Her products are crafted in Spain from the finest materials with unparalleled attention to detail. Minna’s love of design is especially focused on shoes as she says that “shoes – unlike clothes – don’t have to be inhabited by a body in order to look attractive.” An eloquently spoken case in point, I think, why women (and men!) can become so incredibly obsessed with footwear.
Though I can’t get enough of those ponyskin heels above, my favorite pair of Minna Parikka to enter Mawi’s shop is the pair below. It’s a similar style but composed of a beautiful grey suede with a tiny sliver of lilac inside the ears. They go with literally anything and add an irresistible playfulness to any ensemble.
