Here to give us her personal perspective on her experiences during this spring’s fashion weeks, we’ve snagged street-style photographer and writer for Trivial Insanity, Nino Eliava to give us the inside scoop.
Constantly being on the prowl for the next best street style trends around the globe has certainly made her an expert on the subject, a knowledge that resonates in Nino’s effortless personal style. Check out the photo of her (above) at London Fashion Week and don’t forget to follow Nino on twitter to stay up to date with all her fashion-related escapades.

Covering all the fashion weeks is not an easy thing to do. There are many magical and not so magical factors. My job was to shoot street fashion and write about trends and breaking news of New York, London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks.
New York! It was crazy and hectic in a way, as I didn’t have time to adapt to time difference. A lot of coffee kept me awake during those hours when I was supposed to be sleeping. Then very spontaneously I was asked to fly to Los Angeles and cover Marni at H&M party, so even a bigger time difference for me. I was joking that I lived in the past, which is quite difficult; you’re back in time for half a day. But all this time torture was worth it. Los Angeles was sunny and warm, I even had some time to enjoy Santa Monica beach and relax. The party was organized in a very beautiful mansion, where all the Hollywood gathered to celebrate the collaboration. It was a very memorable evening.
London! My favourite London welcomed me with sunny weather and the most talented designers. Very innovative and trendy, London is the best place for young promising designers. From all the showrooms at Somerset House, most of the time I spent at Mawi. The 10 year anniversary collection was breathtaking! While admiring it I was introduced to Mawi Keivom, who is that genius of a woman behind this brand. She has a very inspiring personality. That special heart warming vibe coming from her can be seen in her collections. We talked about her life and the brand. You can read about my interview with her here. Mawi as a brand defines a modern woman, who knows what she wants and is not afraid of anything. She is a contemporary warrior.
Milan! Oh, this city saved all the warmth and beauty for us. As the real spring weather was there for us, all the beautiful fashion people were running around the city in bright and colourful outfits. The biggest news was Raf Simons leaving Jil Sander for nobody knows what. The audience burst into tears on his last show and gave him a standing ovation; even one of the models couldn’t control her feelings and cried, covering her face with hands. Raf showed a little heart with his fingers to the guests of the show. This must be the most touching moment of this season’s fashion weeks.
Paris! This city is a magical place, even photos in this city are different. I don’t know whether it’s the light or something else, but pictures are just marvelous. Though the weather was quite ugly and we were all either blown with cold wind or wet with rain, it was still very inspiring and memorable. So many changes are awaiting the fashion world this season! Stefano Pilati has been removed from YSL in addition to Jil Sander and we’re still guessing who will head the Dior creative team!
All the best,
