One couldn’t wish for a more quintessentially British brand than Antoni and Alison.
For the designing duo Antoni Burakowski and Alison Roberts, quirkiness and wit are a staple of every possible outlet; from their cheeky printed silk scarves, to their perfectly peculiar website, to their exquisite ready to wear runway shows, Antoni and Alison let their whimsical colours show.
Call it Anglomania, but I couldn’t be more excited to feature a select edit of this truly British brand’s beautiful AW12 scarves for sale at the Mawi flagship store (like the one featured in the first image, above)!
Established in 1987, Antoni and Alison met during their time studying at St Martins School of Art. Upon founding their now eponymous label, the two were able to combine their separate talents, Antoni’s textile knowledge and Alison’s fine art painting expertise, to create a reinvention of painted graphics on clothing and accessories of all kinds. This year marks the couple’s 25th anniversary of the foundation of Antoni and Alison and the creation of over 50 stunning collections. My favorite thing about Antoni and Alison designs is their self-proclaimed aspiration to create ‘zip up and go’ pieces. I will never again underestimate the power and simplicity of a printed silk sheath dress. Throw on one of their beautiful scarves, like the one below, and your look becomes instantly more put together.
