Launched in April in Mawi’s very own Dalston, House of Hackney is an interiors company with a great sense of OTT, baroque style! Described as ‘Colefax and Fowler on acid’ they produce bed linen, furniture, fabrics and home accessories all with an irreverent British twist that delights in the kitsch and the out-moded.
Their brave style statements have gained them considerable attention and they have collaborated with cool US retailer Opening Ceremony to create a clothing range which will be available in-store and online in the autumn.
And Opening Ceremony aren’t the only ones snapping up the opportunity to work with such a distinctive brand: Bistrotheque- an East End fashionista’s favourite, have collaborated with House of Hackney on a Victorian gin den which will open on July 27th and run until January 2012. If the lampshades and fabrics are anything to go by it looks like it’ll be camp, decadent and delicious!
