Style.com’s seasonal accessories reports are an industry authority on which pieces and trends are hot for the coming season. For Spring 2011 apparently we’ll be looking for pieces with a ladylike appeal, like this Romanov-esque bracelet from the Mawi SS 11 collection.

When it comes to ladylike style, Grace Kelly is the proverbial icon. It goes without saying that she looked incredible in her Hitchcock movies, at her royal wedding and at glittering social events on the arm of her prince, but I think the most striking shots of her are those of her in off-duty mode – in a swimsuit on the beach or in a kaftan and Raybans, riding her bicycle .

Not only does her natural ladylike grace shine through in these shots, but it’s also when she looks her happiest – the beautiful, grainy shots of her on the beach were taken by her sister in Jamaica, far from the flash bulbs and presumably stifling responsibilities.

When it comes to more contemporary ladylike inspiration, I think it’s the fashion editors who have the look perfected with their polished take on daytime dressing.
My top three ladylike dressers are:
1) Anna Wintour – say what you like about her people management but she is the queen of immaculate front-row dressing…

2) Anna Dello Russo, Editor-at-large and Creative Consultant for Vogue Japan and “fashion maniac” (Helmut Newton), for the irreverent twist she brings to super high maintenance ladylike style

3) Franca Sozzani, long-standing editor of Vogue Italia, and European sophisticate. Style can be genetic apparently – here she is photographed with her sister Carla Sozzani, owner of uber-hip store 10 Corso Como.
