Journalists are often accused of knowing a little bit about lots of things, but only knowing about very few things in depth. The true expert (with a possible tendency towards Asperger’s) is at the other end of the scale. I love the idea of finding your niche, perfecting what it is you’re good at and becoming synonymous with that thing. But, for now at least, I think I’m destined to be the ‘shallow’ girl with lots of anecdotes.
Photographer Kevin Bauman has found his niche and he does it very well- capturing the relationship between man and his environment with his camera lens. I love his photographs of abandoned houses. They pose a hundred questions and harbour endless imaginative potential…
